Lori E. - Ruby I can't recommend Doug enough! He is an attentive, patient, professional, and experienced dog trainer and a really nice guy! Doug is super knowledgeable and understands how to read my dog's habits and tendencies. He worked with me to understand the fundamentals behind my dog's behavior and how to strengthen and improve that behavior. He has helped me learn to follow good habits for my dog, along with giving me many tips on how to continue to build and reinforce those good habits. He is an excellent communicator and provides summaries and suggestions after each session. I'm really so grateful to Doug because he has taught me so many invaluable things about being a good, responsible dog owner, and through his guidance, our 2-year-old MinPin Chi Chi rescue, named Ruby, has really become such a well-behaved and super-friendly pupster! He has also helped me socialize Ruby with my two daughters' dogs so that they can all be together and get along well. I was really worried about this, but Doug spent time advising me about having all 3 dogs together, so now I have the confidence and knowledge to be able to deal with this situation, and thankfully, it has been working out well!! If you want an experienced, dedicated and compassionate trainer for your dog, Doug is your guy! I highly recommend him!

Joe G. - Chip It’s a pleasure to write this review for Chelsea as a professional dog trainer and dog walker. Over the past year, Chelsea has been working with my Shetland Sheepdog, Chip, since he was 6 months old. Her dedication, expertise, and passion for working with dogs have been evident in every interaction. Chip absolutely adores her. When Chip first started his training with Chelsea, he was a typical energetic and playful puppy with a lot to learn. Chelsea's patient and consistent approach to training has transformed Chip into a well-behaved and obedient dog. She has a natural ability to connect with dogs and understands how to motivate and encourage them positively. Chelsea's training sessions are always well-structured and tailored to meet Chip's specific needs. She worked around our busy work schedule as well. She has taught him a range of commands, from basic obedience to more advanced skills. Her techniques are effective and based on positive reinforcement, which has resulted in a strong bond between her and Chip. In addition to training, Chelsea has also been Chip's regular dog walker. She is reliable and punctual and always ensures that Chip gets plenty of exercise and stimulation during their walks. Chelsea's care for Chip goes beyond just walking; she genuinely loves spending time with him and treats him as if he were her own. Chelsea's professionalism, commitment, and love for animals make her an amazing dog trainer and walker. I trust her completely with Chip and have seen tremendous progress in his behavior and overall well-being since she started working with him. I highly recommend Chelsea to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate dog trainer or walker. She is a pleasure to work with and a true asset to any pet owner.

Olivia M. - Spike Working with Chelsea Giron has been a life-changing experience for both my husband and myself, especially our little Chihuahua Mix Spike. My husband and I adopted Spike July of 2019, a severe abuse case. I’m talking about when we adopted him; he was skinny, heartworm positive, hookworm positive, and was missing fur on his ears and around his head. According to records, fly tape was used as pest control; we’ll let your imagination take it from there. At first, Spike seemed to be very loving, wanting to always be with myself and my husband; however, over the course of 6 months to a year, we noticed some very concerning behavioral problems. He was very fearful of other dogs, people, and environments. He would lash out at other dogs and bite people other than us. We sought the advice of a trainer, and they told us that we needed to seek professional help for his problems including a Veterinary Behaviorist. They also told us that Spike would never be a social dog and to just keep him away from triggering events, like people and other animals. However, this isolation advice only made things worse. One day, my husband and I came home to a hole chewed through our drywall, blood all over the floor, and our dog with loose teeth. When we took him out on his routine car ride to try and calm him down, he started screaming at the top of his lungs a very horrible scream, trying to jump out of the car, and when he couldn’t, he tried to burrow into my body; and I mean like Freddy Krueger ripping into my chest trying to dig my skin off so he can be INSIDE me. After speaking to the vet about our little ball of fire, he was diagnosed as clinically anxious, where daily medication is a must, but to seek a certified behavioral trainer. Enter Chelsea Giron. Chelsea did a full assessment with Spike and worked weekly with myself, my husband, and sometimes both of us together. We were given weekly assignments to work on, and we began to see major improvements. He was no longer screaming in the car. He was still cautious of people but allowed them to approach with a treat. We were able to confidently take him on walks in town and leave him home alone for a few hours at a time without fear of damage. Another issue we had noticed with Spike was his extreme fear of grooming and nail trims. Chelsea worked with me to show me ways to coax him to allow him to let me touch him. To date, I have given him monthly nail trims at home and bathed him. After about a year of training with Chelsea, following her calm, compassionate behavioral program, we felt it was okay to introduce another dog into Spike’s world. We, of course, made sure this new adoptee fit all of Chelsea’s requirements: a calm, confident female who is much older and can tolerate it if Spike has a random outburst. It was then 3 years ago, in 2021, we adopted Patch, a senior female chihuahua mix; she was able to help pick up in dog language where Chelsea left off, and Spike could now be left alone for 8 hours at a time and allowed greetings from strangers and was able to ignore other dogs on a walk. We had our life back. In 2023, Patch passed away, and to date, Spike now lives with a Cat and a 9-month-old teacup Chihuahua puppy whom he allows to throw her head in his mouth and bother the heck out of him. Additionally, Spike ended up passing his AKC temperament test and received multiple AKC titles, including Novice Trick Dog. Chelsea helped us translate all of the things Spike was trying to tell us, and through hard work and dedication, she helped transform this land piranha into a novel citizen!
